Hooked on diving since 1974 as a NAUI Jr. Diver, he immediately pursued YMCA SCUBA Instructor, then in '84 on to Divers Institute of Technology, Seattle Wa for Commercial Diving. As a commercial diver he experienced rebreathers as well as helmet diving, hazardous waste water, dam and bridge inspections, operating hyperbaric chambers. In '85 he became PADI instructor, then IANTD, and TDI Instructor Trainer. Returning full time to regular scuba in '93 he opened Going Under Dive Center where he led scuba and ccr expeditons all over the world including Truk Lagoon and Cocos to film HH sharks. In 2009 he sold his 5000 sq ft dive store with Indoor Pool and currently specializes in training ccr divers from basic ccr diver to ccr trimix instructor levels.
When Ron is not diving shipwrecks you will find him training ccr divers. HIs passions include training divers how to enjoy diving rebreathers, and taking them on shipwreck diving adventures. "There is nothing as awesome as seeing the excitement on a divers face after they surface from a Great Lakes shipwreck" . He also enjoys cave diving, red wine, cooking, and bicycle riding with his two daughers.
